About the Salute

The Salute to the Black Nurse of the Year and Scholarship Luncheon is the signature celebration of excellence, service, and education hosted by the Black Nurses Association of Greater Washington, DC area. Now in its 46th year, this event recognizes trailblazing nurses, provides scholarships to aspiring nursing students, and uplifts the voices of healthcare leaders who are shaping a more resilient and equitable future. By participating, we support healthcare leadership and strengthen connections that benefit seniors and families throughout our region.

We meet on the March 19th 2026 from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at Olive Garden. These meetings allow us to network, learn about senior-oriented businesses, and build strong professional relationships that support the needs of local seniors.

April 16 2026

We gather again on April 16th 2026 from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at Olive Garden. Each meeting creates new opportunities to connect, collaborate, and expand the services available to seniors and their loved ones.
